Privacy Policy

Effective date: 30 August 2026

Short version: the JSON you paste stays on your device. JSON Formatter has no accounts, no database, no tracking cookies and no analytics. We do not collect, store or transmit the content you work with.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how JSON Formatter (“we”, “us”), available atautojsonviewer.com, handles information when you use the site. It applies to the website and the JSON formatting tool it provides.

2. The JSON you paste

All formatting, validating, minifying, searching and converting happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. The data you paste, type or drop onto the page is processed in your device's memory only. It is not sent to us, not written to any server, notlogged and not shared with third parties. There is no server-side processing to send it to.

Files you drag onto the page are read with the browser's local File API. They are not uploaded. When you close or reload the tab, the content is gone unless you saved it yourself.

3. Information we do not collect

4. Local storage on your device

The site stores a single value in your browser's localStorage under the keyjson-viewer-theme, holding "light" or "dark" so the site remembers your theme preference. This value never leaves your browser and is not a cookie. You can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.

5. Third-party requests

The page loads its web fonts (Geist Sans and Geist Mono) from the public jsDelivr CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net). As with any request to any website, jsDelivr necessarily receives your IP address, user agent and the URL of the file requested in order to serve it. We do not control jsDelivr and receive no data from it. See thejsDelivr privacy policyfor their practices. No other third-party resources are loaded by the page.

6. Hosting and server logs

The site is served as static files by a hosting provider. Like effectively all web hosts, that provider may automatically record standard request metadata — IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent and referrer — for security, abuse prevention and reliability. These logs are generated by the infrastructure, are retained for a limited period under the provider's own policy, and never contain the JSON you work with, because that data is never transmitted.

7. Children's privacy

The site is a general-purpose developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect it from children.

8. Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and the CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights to access, correct, delete and port personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. Because we hold no personal data about our users, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or delete. If you believe we hold information relating to you, contact us atcontact@autojsonviewer.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Keeping your data on your own device is itself the main security measure here: data that is never transmitted cannot be intercepted in transit or exposed in a breach of our systems. You remain responsible for the security of your own device and browser.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes — for example, if analytics were ever introduced — will be described here plainly rather than buried. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy can be sent tocontact@autojsonviewer.com, or via theContact page.
